Frequently asked questions
Where is Sternfield?
Sternfield is a tiny village in between Aldeburgh and Saxmundham - it is very easy to access from the A12. We will upload a little video of us travelling from the A12 to the venue when we next visit. If you end up on a dirt track you are attempting to get to the venue from the wrong side. You either need to travel through Saxmundham and turn left at the crossroad traffic lights, or turn right off the A12.
What should I wear?
Our wedding vibes is Hobbit Garden Party meets Florence and the Machine music videos. We have no colour theme, and are probably going to be in relaxed wedding attire ourselves. So come in your most comfortable (but beautiful) clothes and just enjoy yourselves.
Should I eat before the wedding?
We are having a very relaxed food option with street food style pizzas and jacket potatoes with different toppings. These will be served in the evening and there will be a little something straight after the ceremony so we recommend eating some lunch before the day starts! We have catered for vegetarians/vegans and gluten intolerant - if you have any other dietary requirements please let us know in the RSVP.
What is the easiest way to get to and from the wedding venue?
The venue is very rural and so most guests will need to come via car. You can leave your car at the venue and collect the next day if needed. Taxis in the area are limited, we definitely recommend booking these in advance or sharing lifts. We are hoping to put a bus on for guests to return from the venue to Felixstowe (as this is where most of our guests live or will be staying). Please make sure on the RSVP to confirm you would like a seat on the bus. Despite Saxmundham only being a 30 minute walk from the venue - we do not recommend walking this in the dark as there are no street lights.
Are plus ones and children allowed?
We are limited by numbers and therefore only people named on the invites are able to come to the wedding. We wish we could have everyone however the reality is weddings are very expensive.
Can we take pictures?
We have some very talented photographers coming (our friends) to take our wedding pictures, these will be candid photos and we are likely not to have any staged photos. We ask that the ceremony is no phones as we want you to be in the moment with us. Please take lots of pictures as the evening progresses, we will share a Google drive link for everyone to share these after the wedding.
How do I RSVP?
Please use the link on this website to RSVP stating whether you would like a space on the bus and any dietary requirements that are not vegetarian/vegan and gluten intolerant (we have catered for these already). Please submit a response for each guest.
Is it a 'free bar'?
In short no... a pre-ceremony beer for those of you that meet Ben at 1:30pm outside the barn and a welcome drink post-ceremony will be on us. After that you are on your own. The bar will accept cards and cash. We thank you for your understanding on this!
When does the wedding start and end?
The ceremony will start at 2:30pm. We have asked people to arrive around 1:30pm to have a quick beer with Ben to settle any nerves and then we will make our way into the ceremony room to start. Evening guests should arrive at 7pm (please be aware we have not catered food for evening guests) and the evening will wrap up around 11:45pm. The bus will be leaving at 11:45pm. All guests including ourselves must be out of the venue by 12am.
I have more questions about the wedding, who can I contact?
We have set up a very cringey wedding email address...
Bora bora was our winning quiz team name while on holiday in Italy for Jake and Emilia's wedding... we like it.
